12 weeks

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.

How far along?
12 weeks.
Due Date: August 13, 2010
Total weight gain/loss: -5. Wow, I'm sure I'll get it all back very soon. My mom told me my grandma lost 14 pounds while pregnant with one of her kids... Maybe I'll be healthier when I'm a Mommy than I was before I got pregnant! :)
Maternity clothes? I'm not in them all the time yet. I wear my jeans but haven't needed my new work clothes (which is good since the pants need to be hemmed) but I'm positive it is coming soon!
Sleep: I'm more careful about how I sleep. Directly on my stomach isn't comfortable anymore, I have to be partially on my side, and when I'm on my back I prop myself up on my pillows.
Best moment this week: I'm figuring out which smells make me queasy enough to hurl so I can get away from them quickly.
Movement: I know baby is moving, I just can't feel it yet.
Food cravings: A few times a week I need my Haagen Daas Strawberry Ice cream :)
Food aversions: Things that are creamy and warm or smell gross (to me)
Gender: Unknown.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button in or out? In... no change.
What I miss: Subway!
What I am looking forward to: My second trimester is coming! Next Friday it is officially here!
Milestones: I can feel my belly growing a little each day. :) Soon everyone will be able to see it!

Other: Yup... I've thrown up more than that one time. I have to be careful to stay away from yucky smells or else I better be close to a bathroom!

Morning Sickness? 11w3d

Please God, PLEASE! Don't let the last couple days of yucky-feeling be the start of morning sickness! I made it so smoothly through the first 11 weeks... plese don't let it start now... I thought I was queasy because I was hungry... I'm not even hungry right now... and I work in half an hour. :-/
(p.s. - Baby, what are you doing, making Mommy sick? This isn't supposed to start now! It is supposed to be over now.)

11 weeks!

Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.

How far along?
11 weeks.
Due Date: August 13, 2010
Total weight gain/loss: -4... wow. I don't think I've eaten this healthy my whole adult life.
Maternity clothes? I've been wearing my maternity jeans... waaaay more comfortable than my regular jeans. Yesterday I bought an outfit for work so when my belly suddenly gets bigger (as people like to tell me it will) I'll have clothes that fit without giving me a wedgie or driving me crazy trying to make them fit with my belly band! (I <3 my belly band!)
Sleep: Normal
Best moment this week: ULTRASOUND!!! :) We got to see our baby for the first time! It was amazing.
Movement: None that I can feel. Now I know that baby does move... but usually only when I startle it :)
Food cravings: Nothing new or weird... pickles are definitely NOT a crave.
Food aversions: See previous posts. I try not to think about it.
Gender: Unknown.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button in or out? In... no change.
What I miss: Subway!
What I am looking forward to: Everything!
Milestones: Seeing the baby! We got to hear the heartbeat and see our baby and it was precious and amazing!

Other: I've noticed that I feel better than ever. Probably due to my eating habits but possibly because I'm pregnant - we'll see if it keeps up after the baby comes... well then I'll probably feel great as a new mom (tired, but great)... so maybe I can just credit my baby with making me wonderful! ALSO - my nails really are strong and longer than ever because of being pregnant/the calcium intake! I had to file them the other day because they were too long for me. Usually they break before I ever get the chance to trim or file the rough spots.

So far this Mommy-to-be status has been better than I anticipated!

10w4d... 1st ultrasound

Look, it is our baby! :)

We got to see our baby for the first time today and what an adorable little thing! I know it is far away but I can't wait to call baby something other than "it."

What a precious little child - laying there all sweet and calm. :) Wonder how long THAT will last!? :) Well... only as long as I don't startle it. The next picture was a bit blurry, baby started to move around more. :)

There are a couple more pics on facebook :)

10 weeks!

With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)

How far along? 10 weeks.
Due Date: August 13, 2010
Total weight gain/loss: -1! No worries anyone. I'm sure this is because I'm eating so healthy and I was overweight to begin with. :) (TMI warning: and I've been less constipated! :D)
Maternity clothes? I already have jeans that I haven't worn... but I'm soon going to need some work clothes that fit a little more comfortably.
Sleep: Normal
Best moment this week: Took my glucose test... not real exciting but it was the next step. :)
Movement: None.
Food cravings: Depends on the minute - usually I want fruit... was totally craving McDonald's the other day. :) Thankfully we are close to 2!
Food aversions: See previous posts. I try not to think about it.
Gender: Unknown.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button in or out? In... no change.
What I miss: Deli sandwiches! The first thing I'm eating once this baby comes is a Subway sandwich!
What I am looking forward to: TUESDAY!! We get to see our baby!!! YAY! :)
Milestones: By my ticker... baby is looking more like a baby! :)

9 weeks!

Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!

How far along? 9 weeks.
Due Date: August 13, 2010 (The new Dr office gave me a new due date! I changed my ticker but I'll probably have to change it again after the ultrasound because it could change drastically... but I'm excited to gain a day on my due date!)
Total weight gain/loss: +1
Maternity clothes? I bought jeans but I'm waiting to wear them until my normal jeans wear out (and they are about to) Or my baby grows enough that my jeans don't fit.
Sleep: Normal... starting to get a little achy if I'm not in that 'just right' position
Best moment this week: Meeting the nurse for my first Dr appt, Feeling my tummy getting more solid.
Movement: None.
Food cravings: Not really cravings... just hungry all the time.
Food aversions: Other than that dip... there isn't really a specific thing... usually if a food doesn't sound good to eat the smell can make me nauseas.
Gender: Unknown.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button in or out? In... no change.
What I miss: Deli sandwiches & caffeine
What I am looking forward to: A week and a half until the Dr appt when we hear the heartbeat!
Milestones: No vomiting, pretty sure I can feel my uterus, baby is a FETUS, 9 weeks!

8 weeks

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

How far along? 8 weeks.
Due Date: August 14, 2010
Total weight gain/loss: No change
Maternity clothes? Not yet... but going to buy a belly band or maternity jeans today, my pants are getting uncomfortable.
Sleep: Normal... can't sleep on my stomach (aches and pains)
Best moment this week: Feeling my tummy getting more solid.
Movement: None.
Food cravings: Not really cravings... just hungry all the time.
Food aversions: There is a cream cheese dip at a restaurant that I loved... now the thought of it makes me feel like I'm going to "toss my cookies" - Oh - and jarred jalapeƱos. blech.
Gender: Unknown.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button in or out? In... no change.
What I miss: Deli sandwiches & caffeine
What I am looking forward to: My 1st Dr appt on Tuesday! It is just to meet the nurse but we're getting started! :)
Milestones: No vomiting, pretty sure I can feel my uterus, baby has real fingers and toes, 8 weeks!
